Rep. Stokesbary takes oath, begins work for 31st District

I am deeply honored to begin service on behalf of the people of the 31st Legislative District.

From the Auburn Reporter:

Rep. Drew Stokesbary, R-Auburn, took the oath of office today to begin his first term in the state House of Representatives.

Friends, family, and supporters filled the galleries to watch the opening ceremonies.

“I am honored to be a voice for the people of the 31st Legislative District,” Stokesbary said. “I am excited to work on the issues facing our state, especially fully funding education, and passing a balanced, sustainable budget on time and without raising taxes. I look forward to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in order to solve problems for all Washingtonians.”

Stokesbary will serve on three House committees including Appropriations, which writes the state budget, Judiciary, which examines civil and criminal law, and Finance, which oversees Washington’s tax code.

“I am grateful to House leaders for entrusting me with this tremendous responsibility,” Stokesbary said. “I look forward to working on critical reforms to Washington’s tax code to make it more predictable, understandable and effective.”

The 2015 legislative session is scheduled to last 105 days.

Stokesbary can be reached at his office in 426 John L. O’Brien building on the Capitol Campus in Olympia, via email at [email protected], or by phone at 360-786-7846.
